Communism is a waste of time because of the fact it doesn't work. Face it, it's been around for 150 years and it hasn't been able to come to fruition.
Communism advocates the violent hell of revolution before it can establish a utopiuan heaven on earth. A paradise based on violence and bloodshed? It doesn't sound right. How exactly does society move from violence and bloodshed to peace and equality? Socialism takes so long to bring communism about that violence is bred into people's heads.
And communism is a weak philosophy. Why is it so easily brought down, becoming a tyranny, becoming totalitarian, becoming state capitalism? Because it's weak; and even though cavemen like Mad-Marx and Hillbilly Engels would like to think otherwise, it's not well thought out. How exactly does socialism remove sin from men's hearts, how does it remove qualities like greed, selfishness, and cruelty? How can a utopia exist while these things still exist?
And equality. How the heck is that ever going to work? All people are not equal to start with. Everyone should really get what they deserve, not get the same as what every one else gets when they don't deserve it.
Dissolving private property would most likely lead to the public having less respect for property. If people don't earn what they have, there is little to no respect for it.
As for putting the proletariat in charge, why?! You're dreaming if you think the working man is oppressed! Today people earn what they have. The harder you work the more oppurtunities you make for yourself. Most of the working class are happier than exec and coporate types. You reap what you sow. Under communism conditions would only degenerate further. Putting the working class in charge is like putting the horse in charge of the rider. It's not what they know how to do. The worker already has somewhat of a say, just as much as he'd have in any state of communism. Leaders are necessary, to guide those who aren't necessarily as good at doing certain things. Too many cooks spoil the broth and all that, and petty squabbling would become commonplace if too many leaders ever existed.
And economically wise it would be very hard to judge supply and demand. Central planning cannot cater to a broad spectrum of needs. If workers are inefficient there is a no threat of losing their livlelihoods to motivate them into working hard, and work places out of necessity would remain in operation with inefficient staff.
This is just a simple outline of some communist flaws, please bring up some points to debate more deeply.
