I as many of you probably do, collect military items such as flags and uniforms. To do this, I sometimes use ebay. So tonight, I was looking at Soviet uniforms and I found one that I liked and I clicked on it to look at it in detail, and this is what I was told by ebay:
"Dear User:
Unfortunately, access to this particular category or item has been blocked due to legal restrictions in your home country. Based on our discussions with concerned government agencies and eBay community members, we have taken these steps to reduce the chance of inappropriate items being displayed. Regrettably, in some cases this policy may prevent users from accessing items that do not violate the law. At this time, we are working on less restrictive alternatives. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you, and we hope you may find other items of interest on eBay.
Thank You."
I was baffelled by this. So I decided to do a test. I did a search for "WW II" and clicked on militaria on the side menu. I got this message for every item that I clicked on. This may only apply to those of us in the US. If you do not believe me, then I urge you to try this. Maybe this is a problem with my computer or something, but every militaria item that I tried had this. Once again, this may only work if you are in the US. This is over the top totalitarian censorship.

Well, my only reaction to that is, that sucks! I have ordered from ebay.com many times in the past, and always received my goods from Russia and Ukraine.
Maybe it depends on the state where you life in?

Lots of stuff is illegal on eBay, same goes for Mein Kampf and similar stuff, but I didn't expect it to be this bad.

eBay is extremely censorious. They block you from selling even some DVDs which are legally available in high street stores in Britain. I think they are simply being ultra-cautious, and they're banning anything which might cause offence to anyone, anywhere at any time. They don't want to get into trouble with governments for supplying their citizens with Nazi regalia (illegal in Germany), hard or even soft-core porn, or weapons. But how am I going to sell my collection of WWII memorabilia, dodgy videos, high explosives and cannisters of sarin gas if I can't use eBay?!

What about when you wish to order something? it'll go to Russia, they ask for your address along with your country to ship items to. btw, nice grammer
